Mrs Jackie Rowley BA Hons - Chair of Governors
Jackie was a civil servant for 20 years, working in a variety of Government departments with management responsibility. She is a parent governor and is in charge of the schools lettings and generating additional income.
Mr Kris Bainbridge BA Hons
With a degree in Business Studies and over 13 years' experience, Kris has held a number of Senior ICT Management roles in various large national and multinational businesses. Kris is a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
Mr Lex Dowie MA (Cantab)
Lex is a recently retired solicitor, formerly a senior partner with the Newcastle offices of Eversheds, then Simpson and Marwick, and latterly Clyde & Co. Originally from Scotland, he moved with his family in 1990 from London to the North East. His daughter, Olivia, is a former pupil of the school.
Mr Iain Greenshields LLB
Iain is a solicitor at Womble Bond Dickinson LLP where he has been a partner since 2001. He has previously been a Governor at Northumberland College and one of his areas of practice is education law. He has advised local authorities, major construction companies and the Education Funding Agency on many school development projects, including setting up national construction frameworks for schools. Iain's daughter is a former pupil and is currently reading psychology at Leeds University.. Iain is a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
Mrs Lucilla Solly
Lucilla has taught for most of her working life, starting with VSO in Africa, followed by teaching in a prep school in London where she became Head of the Junior Department. After marriage and moving to the North East, she taught at Mowden Hall School for 25 years, teaching English, History and Maths. During her time there she was Head of English and also ran the school library. Lucilla’s daughter is a former pupil of Westfield.
Mr Kieran McLaughlin MA Hons (Cantab) PGCE
Kieran joined Durham School in September 2014 as Headmaster. He was born and raised in Liverpool, studying at St Edward’s College, a selective boys’ school in Liverpool. He read Natural Sciences at Jesus College, Cambridge, specialising in Physics and Theoretical Physics. He has taught at City of London Girls’ School, Sevenoaks School and, before Durham, was Deputy Head at Rugby School. His interests outside school are the arts, travel and his family.
Mrs Liz Keightley BA Hons
Liz is a partner in a property rental and investment business. She has formally held management positions at Procter & Gamble and PricewaterhouseCoopers, and has experience in the areas of Business Development, Change Management, HR and Training and Development. Liz is "Mum" to Zara in Senior House and is a Westfield Old Girl. Liz is our Governor with responsibility for Junior House and Early Years, and is a member of the Finance and General Purposes Committee.
