Science Fair – Wednesday 25th June 2019
The whole school, staff and parents were completely blown away at the Senior House Science Fair yesterday. The girls worked really hard in preparation with some working on their own and some in pairs as they researched, tested and executed their projects.
It was a very special occasion, especially as it took place in the recently opened brand new science block. Parents were invited to have their official first tour of the site while they viewed and listened to their daughters’ science project presentations.
We welcomed a very special female scientist to view and be part of the judging panel, Hayley J Fowler, Professor of Climate Change Impacts in the School of Civil Engineering and Geosciences at Newcastle University.
Lauren and Leya won the overall prize for their project ‘Fleming’s Left and Right Hand Law’.
‘We have both learnt a lot from the project so much so that every time I switch the light on, I think about generators and forces. I love Physics’ Leya and Lauren
