Impressive new Junior School facility set to open in September.
As part of a substantial investment project which started last December, we are busy preparing to open phase 2; a newly configured Junior School and Arts facility.
Phase 1 was completed in June which saw the opening of an outstanding STEM facility; students and parents were absolutely dazzled by the Science fair and enrichment week that took place shortly after the official opening.
Phase 2 also brings our junior age pupils onto the same site as the senior girls and will make the whole ‘school life’ journey a more seamless experience.
In addition to this, we are pleased to share some great news on behalf of our construction partners;
Meldrum Construction Services launched a new Health and Safety scheme, with the quarterly winner being awarded the ‘Meldrum Safety Cup’. The Westfield School site is the first site ever to win this accolade. Liz Keightley, Governor of Westfield School said;
“It is a pleasure to be working with Meldrum Construction Services Ltd and a team of people who quite rightly place such importance on safety. For the first phase of our building project to have won this award is great news. We appointed Meldrum Construction Services after a stringent tendering process and have worked with them in order to deliver this multi-phase project on time and on budget. As well as the new Science block, we are looking forward to the next phases being handed over in August. The refurbished buildings will provide us with a wonderful, modern Junior School and the third phase of the refurbishment will house Art, Graphics and the other STEM subjects, all on the one six acre site in the centre of Gosforth."
We’re getting ready to move into our new Junior House; it’s not too late to get your daughter enrolled for September so she too can benefit from these fabulous new facilities.
